I hope this still works

Been wanting to blog for a while but never got down to doing it.

Joel’s vacation went off fairly fast. The vacation camp he joined was just for about 2 weeks if I remember correctly. After that he either fell ill or was off with Abu and Nanna visiting people while I had the usual ‘work’ to keep me busy.

School has re-opened on 2nd June, 2008. Joel’s back in Nursery ‘A’ in Little Angels. He’s familiar with his teacher. He went for the first 3 days and took the next 2 days off. Most of the kids as usual were crying in school. So Abu wasn’t too keen on sending him there just to notice his favorite grandson pull a face or look a little worried. Week 2 onwards has been a breeze. He’s got 2 new text books. No slates required. But Joel insisted on carrying his for the first few days.

A month into his curriculum and the guy has been really quick to imitate his teachers and ayah. Every evening for the past week has Joel making us do his routine in school. When he mouths ‘Join your hands’ it’s hard not to smile because next comes the ‘Thank You God’ with such entertaining lip movements.

Each Friday he’s given 2 of his text books – one on the nursery rhymes, the other on the English alphabet. This year he’s able to cope with the teaching in school. So come Sat and Sun, Joel and I have a fun time singing the rhymes and identifying pictures in his alphabet book. Till now, it’s 3 rhymes, 3 alphabets and a page full of fruits which he identifies correctly. Looking forward to the coming weekend.
