Joel has been busy picking up English as a language to use and not just hear. He began his school days hating the place. Now he's so well set in that he hops and skips a bit too. On reaching there, he'd go to his classroom, place his bag and water bottle in his designated place, no more pissing in his trousers, a hint of a smile and a lot more confidence in the way he walks in.
I have his class photograph sitting at home. Got to scan that and update in his album.
He turned 3 on Feb 28th, 2008. No celebrations at all this year. Though he did have the pleasure of taking chocolates for his friends thanks to Nanna who supplied the entire stock. I realised that evening that no more are those small chocolates sufficient. Parents compete with each other by providing their children 5-Star bars and what not. Nanna didn't want to be out done so she packed him off to school with packets of Kit-Kats and Cadbury's Chocolate Eclairs.
I think chocolates should be banned or have a common birthday celebrated in school. Anyway, if I ever get to the parent committee, I'll try and spread my charm and influence. Wicked thought I know. It's just what I think and feel right now, that's coming out.
Joel's school day is planned on 13th March, 2008. He had his rehearsals today. I hope to find out more from Abu and Nanna about how that went. Since he is not the kind who can speak or sing or dance, he's been given a non-speaking and non-moving role. He'll be the farmer of the song 'B-I-N-G-O'. Will be taking 13th morning off to go and watch the little guy on stage.
Almost every evening is spent singing and clapping hands to that song, 'Hot Cross Buns' and 'Humpty Dumpty'. I love kindergarten days. :)
