Joel's cough hasn't got any better. I hope he's fine to go on stage tomorrow in front of a live audience.
For his role as the farmer in the B-I-N-G-O song, we've bought him a forest green full sleeve shirt since we couldn't find any with those square patters checks. He'll be using my bandana as a scarf and his full length blue jeans. Didn't find boots his size, so we're using an old pair that still fit him.
Abu was present for his rehearsal. He said that he looked good on stage. Now I'm excited to see him there for the first time. Hoping to get pics of him in action. :)

Hands up
We (Abu, Nanna, Ibba nanna and I) were given instructions by Joel one evening to raise hands. We were all in a lazy mood so complied with his request. Joel then stands in the centre of the living room and pretends that he had a book in hand and says 'Aditya'. He repeats this name a few times till it dawns on all of us that he's trying to imitate his teacher calling out his class attendance.
Joel's gone to school today. The cough still remains. I hope sending him today wasn't a mistake.

Down again
Joel's down again with the lung infection. It got worse this morning with him sounding slightly hoarse and a temperature that looked like it wasn't going to die out any time soon.
No school today. But yeah the past weekend together was a time I enjoyed being with him, reciting Chubby Cheeks after him, singing B-I-N-G-O, wrestling and sleeping together on the bed.
Go away infection. I want my son back whole again.

3 years old
Joel has been busy picking up English as a language to use and not just hear. He began his school days hating the place. Now he's so well set in that he hops and skips a bit too. On reaching there, he'd go to his classroom, place his bag and water bottle in his designated place, no more pissing in his trousers, a hint of a smile and a lot more confidence in the way he walks in.
I have his class photograph sitting at home. Got to scan that and update in his album.
He turned 3 on Feb 28th, 2008. No celebrations at all this year. Though he did have the pleasure of taking chocolates for his friends thanks to Nanna who supplied the entire stock. I realised that evening that no more are those small chocolates sufficient. Parents compete with each other by providing their children 5-Star bars and what not. Nanna didn't want to be out done so she packed him off to school with packets of Kit-Kats and Cadbury's Chocolate Eclairs.
I think chocolates should be banned or have a common birthday celebrated in school. Anyway, if I ever get to the parent committee, I'll try and spread my charm and influence. Wicked thought I know. It's just what I think and feel right now, that's coming out.
Joel's school day is planned on 13th March, 2008. He had his rehearsals today. I hope to find out more from Abu and Nanna about how that went. Since he is not the kind who can speak or sing or dance, he's been given a non-speaking and non-moving role. He'll be the farmer of the song 'B-I-N-G-O'. Will be taking 13th morning off to go and watch the little guy on stage.
Almost every evening is spent singing and clapping hands to that song, 'Hot Cross Buns' and 'Humpty Dumpty'. I love kindergarten days. :)
