School time

Got to find this kiddo a school ASAP. He's been doing things around the house, time which I have none to detail right now.

The kid's growing up to be a stubborn brat. :D

Attached

Well, each time I think about Joel's attachment to me, I wonder whether it's because he realises I'm his mom or whether I'm a person he loves being around besides my parents and aunt or is he just looking out for someone younger to be with?

Asleep before I touch home

For the past 2 days, Joel didn't sleep in the afternoons. He'd rather roll around in bed next to his grandmother, not making a single sound.

Yesterday I hadn't gone home for lunch since Abu had taken the scooter to get the tyres changed. Reached home in the evening and mom told me that by 7 p.m., the little fella had crashed out while sitting on his purple ball in between 2 sofas.

Sorry Joel. Missed out on you totally yesterday. But thank God you woke up at 5.30 a.m. this morning :)

The hand - leg coordination

Joel had a slight temperature a few days ago. That's gone with the medication. Now it's only cough, cough and cough.

Dad had taken him to the doc yesterday. 5 days course and he should have got rid of that disturbing cough.

In the meanwhile, I've noticed that Joel now uses his toes to pick up stuff from the ground instead of bending over and picking things up. Little things like a handkerchief, a small toy or even a bottle cap.

Home again

Joel's had a swell time in Bangalore. In Indiranagar, he found a TV which could be programmed to Cartoon Network and POGO full time when he was awake.

He didn't like the fact that he had to travel by bus in the night. His protests stopped when he discovered we were all travelling and that it was on a sleeper. He had a ball on the way to and back from Bangalore.

First day was pretty much at home for him. In the evening, he set out with Abu and Nanna to Neil's place since I'd reached home late from work. He was all set for icecream which wasn't on the menu. So he had masala ground nuts and chips and pepsi. He took to Thethu even though he hadn't seen her for a long time. But on the whole, I was his mom who had to take him to the loo, give him water, let him play with my dupatta, take him around the terrace and generally hold and cuddle him. Felt good but a little wonky since I was wearing my heels.

On Neil's wedding day, he slept with me in the afternoon. To wake him up was a major task. He refused to let his eyes open. And when he did finally open them, he didn't want to dress up. Finally had to take him dressed in a smart red T-shirt and his blue house pj's. That's a real good first for him. He ate a bit from the wedding meal spread. Danced with me a little. And had plenty of loo visits just to try out the flush.

Once back home, we just clicked a few snaps while waiting for Abu and Nanna to appear. Once they were back, a few more shots

Last day at Bangalore, Nanna, Thethu, Joel and I went out. First went to Thethu's place. Joel loved the open space there. He interacted fairly well with Safi. We didn't give him much time to explore the place besides a few dolls and 2 red heart balloons to carry along. We set out to Forum along with Uma, Sangi's flatmate. After walking for an hour, entered Transit and ordered for food.

Joel tried tasting a bit of everything from the Jumbo Meal ordered for Thethu and Nanna to the sandwich from Subway. After Forum it was back to Thethu's place for what I thought was going to be a quiet nap for him. But he refused to sleep or let Nanna sleep. Once I came back from Commercials, we headed home and he crashed out on the way. Bought a pair of fake Fast Track glasses for just Rs. 50 for him. I hope he enjoys wearing them when he goes on his bike rides with Abu.

He was in no mood to eat after he woke up. Just a few biscuits and then headed to the bus stop. The bus was about half an hour late. He finished a Gems packet during that period. In the bus I liked the way his face lit up when he saw it was a sleeper type again.

I must admit that the little guy has amazing bladder control. The little he couldn't control leaked on to his pj's. But once down from the bus, he let it go only after he let me assist him. No Abu wanted this time round. Once home, he loved being stripped off those sweaty clothes and happily went for his bath.

Since last night, I see the outcome of the trip. He's got a slight fever. Trying to squash it before it becomes a full blown thingy. Good health Joel.
