6 teeth and a temper

Life with Joel till date has been pleasant with all the hilarious and sweet moments in plenty. Don't ask me to list them. I've got a lousy memory when anyone does so. (which is why I blog).

From the last blog updated here, Joel has 4 teeth on his upper jaw, 2 on the lower. They look a little spaced out. This is not noticeable from a distance though. He's got his vaccination on time and has more coming up in the next few months. The doctor warned about the one in August as being a painful one. Tell me which isn't!

Since I've not been able to remember everything at one go, here's what I do remember starting from the day I had my haircut. He knows that pulling someone's hair makes them go "Aaaaiii" (translated to common English, it's Ouch). I'd been to the parlour to get rid of the burden of managing the nearly shoulder length hair. Back to my good old 'boy-cut' and feeling good about it. Joel's reaction on seeing me is something I guess I'll remember forever. He took one look at me. Smiled. When I sat down to cuddle him, he held my left ear, turned my head to the right and back and with a very solemn look said "Aai". My parents and sister who were sitting and watching the entire scene burst out laughing.

Joel got to play the part of baby Jesus for a play (Udenthiso Sowtho Rai - The 4th king from Orient) that staged twice during Lent. He was great during the practices. Final day, he landed up crying. Poor li'l guy. He must have hated the lights.

Leaving home on a vehicle is now tough since Joel has realised a moving vehicle offers a fast moving scenery. Dress up and you've asked for it. Take him or bear the guilty conscience that you made him cry. No wonder he got along pretty well with Amrith. He must have realised that Amrith's the one who can take him on the bike at Udupi.

Amrith's brought a few more toys last month for Joel. He's already fallen over one them twice. 2 bumps on the head and loads of crying too. Acha's right royally pampering the li'l fella. After coming back from Udupi last weekend, everyone at home noticed that he demands a little more attention.

My grandmom and cousin (Reena) had come visiting last week. They stayed with us till yesterday. By the end of their stay, Joel's jealousy was showing. He didn't want Reena to be close to grandmom. She was not to touch the pillow he liked. He didn't even want her touching a toy of his. One movement from her and he'd start screaming. Sis commented that my no. 2 baby would give this guy a complex. Right now I'm wondering if I have no. 2 baby in the making. Shall wait!

Another cousin (Lona) who came home yesterday said that since he was the first grandchild my parents had, he'd be remembered forever even if they had 12 grandchildren after him. Privileges of being the first born are so many. I never knew :-P
