Quick notes due to less time!

11th November, 2005: Joel tried standing using the table. Tethu was just back from Mumbai with Evita and Boku. We were having lunch in the sitting room. Punkut was seated near the table. Next moment he pulled himself up holding on to the table top. But lost balance and fell backwards.
13th November, 2005: Joel crawled on his hands and knees. He didn't realise he was doing this.. now he can't do without it.
17th November, 2005: Joel pulled himself into standing position using the sofa. Sofa covers have now been thrown back.
For a guy who was considered a slow and lazy baby, he seems to be doing things pretty fast now - my notion! not experienced. He's my only first-born! :-)
Waiting for the time he can walk on his own. And then shall start the 'Carry me' sessions :-))
Oh yes! he got his haircut too - the day before tethu came back.

Punkut learnt to sit this morning

Although I'd love to stay here and type in detail what Joel did over the past few days, time's a big constraint. So capturing only these few things:

3rd November, 2005: Joel learnt to get off his butt after I made him sit. He did that at around 8 in the evening. And then again around 9 p.m.

4th November, 2005: Joel did the tummy crawl - he was on his tummy and wanted to reach out to his toy. He was able to push himself just sufficiently to catch his toy. Rewards for hard work? A squeeky toy ball.

7th November, 2005: Joel sat on his own. Aound 8 in the morning, while I was having my breakfast, Joel finally managed to push himself against the sofa. After carefully maneurvering his legs, he was able to sit by himself. We (as in Mom and I) were so happy when we witnessed this. We started clapping and cheering him. Wrong move! he got so taken up by the noise we made, he lost his balance and fell on his side. Poor punkut. Bumpy on the head and scared! but that's all over and forgotten.

I've decided to learn to contain my excitement. No he's still not had his haircut. And I've not tried getting him into his new sherwani. When the time comes (hope that's soon), will do all this and more.

Look who's back

Abba.. as in my dad just reached back from Mumbai this morning. He's brought a set of new clothes for Joel.
Thethe i.e. Sangi had told mom over the phone a few days ago that dad was planning to make Joel look a little more Indian. Today that look thing was cleared up. There's a lovely sky-blue sherwani for Joel and 3 play sleeveless t-shirts for him. I'm itching to get Joel into those clothes soon just to see how he looks in them. The sherwani first. May have him wear that for Brian's wedding. Or it'd be for Christmas most probably.

Joel's not yet got his haircut. Hope to do it during the coming weekend. That way, he'll have a neat look in time for his birthday.

Amrith and I've kinda decided today that we're (as in Joel, Amrith and I) going to the studio and getting a few 'propah' family snaps clicked. This is with the intention of giving relatives a 'dekko' at Joel. Those who weren't able to see him or meet him till date, that is. For those who have, they'll be glad to see him again. Oh yeah! those snaps will be up on my album for sure. Now all I've got to do is wait for Amrith to show up in Mangalore on Sat early, before he leaves to Chennai for Alvin's wedding.

After the break at Udupi

i'm still vacationing in the office. tuff to get my lazy self to move brains. However, when i was 'chatting' with a colleague on the msn i realised there were some more things i could add to this blog.
  • The words that Joel says at present are: nannannana, thethe, mammumma or something that sure sounds like that.
  • The jumpy bumpy thing still continues as much as doing a peekaboo with his head down and bottom up.
  • He doesn't cry when i leave to the office - thanks to my mom. She makes it look like some fun thing waving mom off to her office on her bike.
  • He's getting curious abt Chocky and the rest of the dogs.
He's got a little attached to me during the 3 days at Udupi.
